Healthwatch Leeds Logo

Healthwatch Leeds Community Interest Company are looking for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Salary: PO 6 (points 46-49 depending on experience)

Hours: 37 hours per week. This post will involve some weekend and evening work

Benefits: 28 days annual leave increasing to 31 after 2 years, public holidays, workplace pension

Healthwatch Leeds was established in April 2013 to bring the voices and experiences of local people to influence the decisions made in their health and care. The local voices and experiences are used to influence planners, decision makers and service providers in Leeds. Local Healthwatch organisations have the right to go to places where health and care is delivered and report what they find.

We are looking for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to take us forward as one of the largest Healthwatch in Northern England.  Our vision is quite simple – we want local people to influence how health and care services in Leeds, as well as the wider West Yorkshire and Harrogate footprint are commissioned, delivered and reviewed.

The role combines the strategic and leadership requirements you would expect of a CEO but is special as you will also be a key link to local people and communities. Sharing and promoting local people’s voices and experiences as well as opportunities to have a say are a key focus of the role.  We feel that being close to the public and keeping your hand in day to day operational activities is just as important in your role.

As our new Chief Officer, you’ll show a real personal commitment to our values, bringing passion, vision and dedication to the role.  You will understand the complexities involved in leading a Community Interest Company and be able to handle the challenges we face in the changing health and care system.

You will work with our Board to outline our strategic direction and translate this into an annual planning and performance reporting system.  You will have skills and experience in providing leadership, ensuring effective governance, financial and people management.

Representing Healthwatch in a range of Boards, Committees and with partner organisations and other key stakeholders, as well as supporting our Board Directors, staff and volunteers in appropriate representation will be a key role.  Strong, persuasive and influential communication and relationship skills will be necessary attributes for this role.
